This project is in support of the Children’s Hospice South West, the North Devon Cancer Care Centre Trust, and many other local charities. 40th Anniversary of the Great Torrington Cavaliers. 28th August.  Lundy Sailings. Lundy abounds with Wild life – Silka deer, Lundy ponies, Soay Sheep, rabbits, basking sharks, dolphins, and birds so rare that they bring birdwatchers to the Island from all over Britain. A day trip to Lundy Island is also a cruise, a chance to enjoy the beautiful North Devon coast. Lundy’s own ship the MS Oldenburg, is a sizeable vessel, carrying 267 passengers, and providing bar, buffet, shop and information centre. Sailing from either Ilfracombe or Bideford quay the voyage takes under 2 hours. Landing on the jetty, you walk up the cliff road from the beach and the island awaits.

29th August (Sunday). Clovelly. At approx 4pm you could be lucky enough to witness a host of intrepid cyclists rattling sown the cobbles of Clovelly. The inaugural Great Tour ride is one of the UK’s greatest challenges – a circumnavigation of Britain’s coastline by bicycle, starting from Seaton, Devon on 3rd July. The riders are drawn from the worlds of sport, celebrity, charity, politics, science and the arts. For 64 days they will never lose sight of the sea during their epic 6,600 km pedal in aid of The Prostrate Cancer Charity and the National Grocers Benevolent Fund “Caravan”. The creator of Channel Five’s “Mist –sheepdog tales” David Kennard and one of the country’s finest falconers Jonathan Marshall treat you to a breathtaking display of skill and daring!
